All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.   DESCRIPTION CAP Government, Inc. is seeking the immediate hire of an experienced and licensed Structural Engineer (with a Florida P.E. license, is highly desired).  The candidate must possess the technical ability to independently work through a project from schematic design through the construction phase with minimal guidance.  Our attention to detail and the quality of service we provide to clients, separates us from other firms.  Candidates will be required to prepare engineering calculations and oversight of construction documents.  Coordinate structural design with architects, other engineering disciplines, building officials, and contractors.  Perform construction administration functions including the review of shop drawings and interpretation of construction documents.  Duties, Responsibilities, and Qualifications Conducts plan examining in all building permit categories of new and existing installations for compliance with the Florida Building Code; examines building projects for defects, omissions, violations, and other departures from correct procedure; provides recommendations and suggestions to contractors or owners regarding changes necessary to bring establishment up to code requirements; ensures all building construction work conforms to national and county building codes. Performs related work as required. Evaluates proposed alternate methods and materials against code requirements.
