About the Role:
The Superintendent will oversee and manage on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires coordinating with employees, suppliers, and project managers to maintain smooth workflow and adherence to project specifications. The Superintendent will enforce strict safety protocols and quality standards to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Ultimately, the Superintendent plays a critical leadership role in delivering successful heavy civil construction projects that meet client expectations and company goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Superintendent or similar role in construction projects.
Proven knowledge of construction safety standards and OSHA regulations.
Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors and coordinating complex construction activities.
Strong understanding of pre-construction processes, constructability, and scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
Familiarity with construction management software and project scheduling tools.
Previous experience working on large-scale projects across multiple states.
Advanced training in safety management or risk assessment.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily construction operations on project sites, ensuring work progresses according to schedule and quality standards.
Coordinate and supervise teams to optimize productivity and maintain effective communication.
Implement and enforce comprehensive safety management plans to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
Conduct pre-construction planning activities.
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or delays, and proactively develop solutions to keep projects on track.
Maintain accurate documentation of site activities, safety inspections, and progress reports for stakeholders.
Collaborate with project managers to resolve technical challenges and improve construction processes.
Skills:
The Superintendent will apply construction management skills daily to coordinate complex projects, ensuring all activities align with project timelines and budgets. Expertise in construction safety is critical to enforce protocols that protect workers and comply with regulations. Knowledge of subcontracting allows the Superintendent to effectively manage multiple teams and vendors, optimizing resource allocation and workflow. Pre-construction and constructability skills enable proactive planning to identify potential challenges and streamline execution.
