The Sustainability Manager will support the Northern Perak Water Supply Scheme (NPWSS) project, leading the development, implementation and oversight of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies. This role ensures that the project aligns with national sustainability standards, water supply project requirements, and all applicable local regulatory obligations. The candidate must have a good understanding of the construction or engineering project life cycle (may include planning, design development, procurement, construction).

Candidates with experience in engineering or construction would be an advantage.
Job Summary
The Sustainability Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organization's sustainability strategies and programs. This role involves setting sustainability goals, conducting assessments, implementing initiatives to reduce environmental impact, engaging with stakeholders, and reporting on sustainability performance. The Sustainability Manager will collaborate with various departments to integrate sustainability principles into the organization's operations and culture.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns with the organization's overall business objectives and values.
Conduct sustainability assessments to identify environmental, social, and economic impacts and opportunities.
Develop and implement initiatives to reduce the organization's environmental footprint, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, and greenhouse gas emissions reduction programs.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, and community groups, to promote sustainability awareness and collaboration.
Monitor and report on sustainability performance, using key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in sustainability (e.g., LEED Accredited Professional, Certified Sustainability Professional) are preferred.
Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of sustainability principles, frameworks, and best practices.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and reporting requirements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to influence and build consensus across different departments and levels of the organization.
