Job Description
As a Trainee CTV Master you will act as the company representative on board the vessel and, under the direction of the vessel Master, will transfer wind turbine technicians, and other passengers, to offshore windfarms as well as undertake cargo operations. You will ensure the safety of all personnel on board, conducting regular safety drills and promoting a positive safety culture, alongside the following duties:
Undertake safe and efficient navigation, manoeuvring and operation of the vessel
Adhere to the company Safety Management System, ISM code and applicable shipping rules and regulations
Complete the annual Master review, periodical inspections and maintenance of the vessel and its equipment in accordance with maintenance procedures
Deliver a professional service from start to finish when transferring technicians and maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders
Undertake on-board administration, recordkeeping and reporting to the office
Undertake training as applicable and conduct and participate in emergency drills to ensure people on board are prepared to respond to emergency situations.
Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the vessel and assist engineers with vessel maintenance as and when required
Lead and manage the vessel crew, providing training and guidance as needed
Undertake instructions from the shoreside management team
Experience
Previous experience as a Deckhand on CTVs OR
Previous experience as a Master on similar sized vessels
