The Role As a Statics Trails Manager, lead a team of Suitably Qualified Experienced Persons and Subject Matter Experts to deliver safe, efficient and effective OME trails between QinetiQ and customers.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead Trails Teams to deliver activities for our Customers and the Business across Land ranges utilising your professional knowledge, produce risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work that identify Hazards, Causes, Control Measures and mitigations for all Ordnance Munitions and Explosives activates.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading a team of SQEPs and SMEs to deliver safe, efficient and effective OME trials under the Long-Term Partnering Agreement
Producing comprehensive risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work and trial documentation to ensure risks are reduced to ALARP
Presenting proposed Safe Systems of Work at Hazardous Activities Management Reviews and delivering clear safety briefs for trial activities
Supervising trial activities to ensure compliance with approved Safe Systems of Work, engineering policies, assurance requirements and range procedures
Managing changes to trial activities through appropriate HAM, Deviations and Waivers and Change Control processes
Ensuring OME activities, safety distances and Weapon Danger Areas meet technical, safety, competency and customer requirements
Essential experience of the Static Trails Manager:
Experience in the safe management, supervision and delivery of OME or other high-hazard activities
Experience implementing Safe Systems of Work covering Safe People, Safe Places, Safe Equipment and Safe Practice
Experience organising, executing and reporting on trial activities
Experience developing Safe Systems of Work and producing suitable and sufficient risk assessments
Good working knowledge of OME and associated hazards, with flexibility to support activities across other Land Ranges
Proficiency in MS Office and Microsoft 365, with a willingness to undertake further training and continuous professional development
Essential qualifications for the Static Trails Manager:
Formal qualifications (civilian or military) in the handing and functioning of OME
