POSITION DETAILS
Job Purpose: The Mig/Tig Welder interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques and operating various welding devices. Completes custom welding projects using various welding processes with ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness. Will work on variety of jobs and projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Welding: Perform welding operations, including MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding, to join metal pieces together according to project requirements. Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently. Ensure welded joints are structurally sound, visually appealing, and meet quality standards.
Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine project specifications, welding requirements, and tolerances. Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute metal fabrication and welding tasks accordingly.
Quality Assurance: Inspect fabricated and welded parts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications. Identify and resolve any issues or defects in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with welding codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on welding and fabrication equipment to ensure proper functioning. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
Working Conditions:
Production leads work in the manufacturing warehouses.
Full-time Monday-Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm daily.
Some overtime may be required to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications Required:
3+ years of experience as a metal fabricator/welder
Strong skills in MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding techniques.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Knowledge of different types of metals, their properties, and appropriate fabrication/welding techniques
Ability to use various hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments accurately.
Knowledge of welding codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications Required:
Strong mechanical aptitude
Other duties as assigned.
Welder with MIG and TIG experience in steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
General fabrication knowledge.
Ability to weld thin wall material.
Ability to build jigs and fixtures for production welding.
Applicants are required to perform a welding test at our facility.
Minimum Education Required:
High school diploma, Vocational or technical training
Minimum 3 years specialized experience in a custom fabrication environment
