Location: On-site in Lynchburg, Virginia Your Day to Day as a Welding Engineer:  Improving existing welding operations and developing new welding processes and applications. Essential functions: Manages projects to achieve company objectives through proposal, scoping, execution and reporting phases. Works with production welding engineers and shop floor personnel to understand existing processes. Works with customer representatives to understand and achieve project goals. Proposes and investigates new welding techniques or joint designs to meet program objectives. Investigates modifications to existing welding processes to improve process margin. Programs CNC welding equipment. Prepares welding procedures, drawings, and electronic shop floor routing documents. Prepares customer submittals to gain approval and transmit information through formal and informal channels. Operates welding equipment on a limited basis for development purposes only. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications:  A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, Materials Joining Engineering, or equivalent is required.
