Resurrection has an opening for a Worship Experience Specialist role! This position is full-time, exempt and is located at our Leawood campus located at 13720 Roe Avenue. Job Summary The Worship Experience Specialist is the church’s location leader responsible for creating a meaningful worship experience that guides our guests and existing members on their journey to become deeply committed Christians. As a member of the Worship Team, the Worship Experience Specialist will develop and manage healthy volunteer teams related to weekend worship, ensuring that every person who joins us for worship has an exceptional experience. The Worship Experience Specialist responsibilities include the oversight and direction of all Sanctury volunteers including Sanctuary Ushers, Worship & Acolyte Coordinators, Parking Lot Volunteers and Medical Team volunteers as well as supporting cross-functional teams serving in first impressions and guest connections including Baptisms and Holy Communion and First Time Guest follow up. The Worship Experience Specialist is also responsible for key administrative aspects of volunteer management and will provide oversight for Worship Experience Team scheduling software and registration systems. The Worship Experience Specialist will collaborate across ministry areas supporting the location team and others for special Sanctuary events including larger weddings, funerals, conferences and more Essential Responsibilities and Expectations : Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Position-Specific Serve as the on-site Worship Experience Staff leader in the Sanctuary for all worship services. Provide holistic leadership, training, and support to Worship Experience/Guest Connection Teams Manage volunteer schedules and ensure adequate coverage for all services. Build effective teams, identifying high-capacity leaders and equipping people for ministry. Ministry assessment and performance evaluation, goal setting, mentoring, spiritual encouragement, support, and conflict resolution. Prepare for and conduct team meetings, trainings, and celebration/recognition events. Prepare and set up Holy Communion and Baptisms in accordance with the United Methodist Book of Worship as well as denominational/location traditions and pastor preferences.
