Operates and maintains wastewater treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater treatment plant to control flow and processing of wastewater by performing the following duties.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 12pm-8pm
How You Will Make Contributions That Matter
Inspect, operate, and maintain pumps, blowers, mixers, chemical feed systems, membrane equipment, sludge dewatering equipment, and associated treatment processes.
Collect samples, perform process control testing, record keeping, and basic laboratory analysis.
Monitor SCADA and control systems; adjust pumps, valves, chemical feed rates, motor speeds, flow settings, and process setpoints to maintain efficient treatment operations.
Perform routine rounds of the treatment facility, observing equipment conditions and identifying operational abnormalities, mechanical issues, or safety concerns.
Assist with preventive maintenance activities.
Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings and test results to determine load requirements.
Communicate operational status, process changes, equipment issues, and ongoing projects during shift turnover to ensure continuous plant operation.
Safely handle and apply chemicals including polymers, disinfectants, coagulants, and nutrient removal chemicals.
Pushes/pulls 2500-pound totes using a hand jack and lift 50+ pounds.
Performs QA/QC tests according to DNR specifications.
Use of hand/power tools, skid-loader, truck, and snow removal equipment.
Follow all safety, environmental, food safety, and company policies while contributing to a safe and compliant workplace.
Fill in as needed for vacation relief.
You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have
Values that align with the Saputo culture.
Pursuing associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a 2-year or technical college and/or 3-6 years of related experience and/or training;
Pursuing Grade T or above Operator’s License or equivalent experience.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to multi-task, solve problems, remain self-motivated, and work well independently
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and SCADA-Supervisory Control and Data Acquisitions.
